Miguel Krigsner 

Miguel Krigsner

Chairman

Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Boticário Group and of the Board of Trustees at the Boticário Group. In 1977, he founded O Boticário, a small apothecary pharmacy in downtown Curitiba. The business was a pioneer in adopting, in the 1980s, the franchising system. Currently, the Boticário Group counts on four business units (O Boticário, Eudora, quem disse, berenice?, and The Beauty Box), with 3,755 stores in Brazil, and is present in seven other countries, and owns Brazil’s largest franchise chain considering all business and the largest in the world in the perfume and cosmetics business. In 1990, with his entrepreneurial vision and his concern with the environment and the quality of life of people, Miguel Krigsner created the Boticário Group Foundation for Nature Protection.

Alexandre Mansur 

Alexandre Mansur

With a degree in journalism by PUC-Rio, he took courses on Environment and International Relations at the Instituto de Estudos da Religião (ISER) in Rio de Janeiro. Currently, he is the executive-editor at the Época magazine and also of the Planeta Blog and Época Online. He worked for the press offices at Petrobras and covered Eco92 for ECABE Press, a national news agency. After three years working for monthly science magazines, he was hired by the Jornal do Brasil newspaper in 1994, as Science and Health editor. He was sub-editor for environment at Veja magazine in São Paulo between 1998 and 2000. Since then, he has been working for Época magazine. Besides being a member of the Board of Trustees at the Boticário Group Foundation for Nature Protection, he is a board member of the Instituto do Homem e Meio Ambiente da Amazônia (Imazon).

Ariel Scheffer da Silva 

Ariel Scheffer da Silva

With a degree in Biological Sciences by the Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR) (1984-1989), a master’s degree in Aquiculture by the Simon Fraser University, British Columbia, Canada (1993-1995), and a PhD in Zoology by UFPR (1996-2001). He was an associate researcher at the Center for Sea Studies at UFPR in the Artificial Reefs Project between 1997 and 2003. As an advisor in coastal development, he supported the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) between 1997 and 1998 in Brazil. Working for private companies, he was a senior researcher for the Environment at the Instituto de Tecnologia para o Desenvolvimento (LACTEC), and manager for the Environment at the HSBC Bank Brasil, where he coordinated the Ecoefficiency area and the HSBC Climate Partnership Program in Brazil. In the non-governmental organizations field, he was one of the founders of the Associação Mar Brasil, an NGO acting in the conservation of marine ecosystems, where currently he is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He is one of the coordinators at the Observatório de Conservação Costeira do Paraná - OC2, a group of researchers and conservationists that monitor public policies and construction works being done in the coast of Paraná, monitor the actions of environmental mitigation and compensation for these construction works and aid both Federal and State Attorney’s Offices. He is also a professor and researcher at the Instituto Federal do Paraná and director for Undergraduate and Graduate Studies.

Eládio Lecey 

Eládio Lecey

With a Law degree from the Faculdade de Direito de Caxias do Sul and a graduate course from the Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Lecey is a retired judge. He is also chairman of the committee at the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), a professor at the Escola da Magistratura and coordinator of the specialization course in Environmental Law at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, president of the Escola Brasileira de Direito e Política Ambiental and Instituto O Direito por Um Planeta Verde. He was part og the committee of experts that provided suggestions for the elaboration of the legislation regarding environmental crimes and misdemeanors (Bill 9605/98), and he also was coordinator of the Revista de Direito Ambiental magazine, which is published by the Editora Revista dos Tribunais. Throughout his trajectory, he led several magistrate associations and received the title of honorary member, the highest honor of the Associação Brasileira dos Membros do Ministério Público do Meio Ambiente (Abrampa) for his relevant services for the institution and for his commitment to the environmental cause.

Fábio Olmos 

Fábio Olmos

Fábio Olmos has a degree in Biological Sciences at Universidade Estadual de Campinas, and a Master’s Degree in Biological Sciences-Ecology by the same university, and a PhD in Biological Sciences (Zoology) by the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho. Currently, he is director at Permian Brasil Serviços Ambientais, but has worked as an environmental consultant in projects by governments, NGOs, and the private sector. He was also director of the Ilhabela State Park. He is a member of the editorial staff of the Birdlife International magazine.

Haroldo Palo Jr. 

Haroldo Palo Jr.

Palo Jr., who has a degree in Electronic Engineering and Computers, is nationwide renowned as a nature photographer. Throughout his 35 years of career, he has accumulated an archive of over 300,000 photographs and 2,000 hours of video images about nature. Part of this archive has already been shown on television, in programs such as Globo Repórter, Fantástico, and Domingão do Faustão. The Boticário Group Foundation for Nature Protection itself has several images by Palo Jr. in its archives, which have been used, for instance, in the book Sinais de Vida, which was published in 2005 to celebrate the Boticário Group Foundation for Nature Protection’s 15th anniversary.

José Alexandre Felizola Diniz Filho 

José Alexandre Felizola Diniz Filho

Graduated in Biological Science from Sergipe Federal University, holds a Masters and PhD in Zoology from Julio de Mesquita Filho State University. Currently is professor and Dean from the Goias Federal University. Member of the Linnean Society, London (FLS) and the Brazilizn Science Academy. Associate editor of a number of periodicals and one of the main editors of the "Global Ecology & Biogeography" (Blackwell Inc.), as well as former director of Ecography (2010 - 2014), "Journal of Biogeography" (2005), "Insect Conservation and Diversity" (2010-2012) and "Revista Chilena de Historia Natural" (2012-2013). Was chief editor for "Natureza & Conservação" (2010 and 2012), and is currently a staff member of the editiong team.

Ibsen Gusmão de Câmara 

Ibsen de Gusmão Câmara (In Memoriam)

Considered to be one of the pioneers in the environmental movement in Brazil, he joined the Brazilian Navy at 17 and remained there for 40 years, reaching the post of Vice-Admiral. As a militant conservationist, he was coordinator of the studies for the creation of the Inter-ministerial Commission for Ocean Resources, of which he was the first secretary. In 1981, he became chairman of the Fundação Brasileira para a Conservação da Natureza (FBCN – Brazilian Foundation for Nature Conservation) which, at the time, led Brazilian conservationism. In 1991, he devised the Action Plan for the Atlantic Forest, one of the most important compilations on this biome. He was author or co-author of 18 books on conservation and correlated subjects, chairman of the Sociedade Brasileira de Proteção Ambiental (Sobrapa – Brazilian Society for Environmental Protection) and member of the board of trustees at the following organizations: the Boticário Group Foundation for Nature Protection, Fundação Biodiversitas, Fundação SOS Mata Atlântica, WWF-Brasil, Fundação Flora de Apoio à Botânica, Fundo Brasileiro para a Biodiversidade (Funbio), and Sociedade para a Conservação das Aves do Brasil (Save). Marcelo Buzaglo Dantas 

Marcelo Buzaglo Dantas

A lawyer and Legal Consultant in the environmental area, he has a Master’s Degree and a PhD in Diffuse and Collective Law at PUC-SP, and he also is visiting scholar in the Environmental Law Program at Pace Law School (White Plains, NY). And former Chairman of the Environmental Commission at OAB/SC (2007-2009 and 2010-2012). Professor of Environmental Law at the Universidade do Vale do Itajaí and at the Escola de Preparação e Aperfeiçoamento do Ministério Público of Santa Catarina, as well as at the Specialization Course on Environmental Law at PUC/SP, PUC/RJ, UNISINOS, UNIVALI e CESUSC. He is the Coordinator of Specialization Courses in Environmental Licensing and in Environmental Law and Management at CESUSC. Author, organizer and coordinator of six books in the Environmental Law area and author of over 60 articles published in books and specialized magazines both in Brazil and abroad. Between 2007 and 2011, he was named by the Análise Advocacia Magazine among “The Most Admired People in Law”, in the “Environmental” category.In 2013 he appeared in Britain’s Who’s Who Environment.

Maria Tereza Jorge Pádua 

Maria Tereza Jorge Pádua

An agronomy graduate from Universidade Federal de Lavras, Ms. Pádua is a member of the Board of Trustees at the Word Commission on Protected Areas at IUCN, and at Funatura. She a consultant at SESC Pantanal, chairperson at the Associação O Eco and also the director-chairperson and columnist at the O Eco website. Between 1968 and 1981, Ms. Pádua was Director of National Parks in Brazil, general secretary and substitute chairperson at the Instituto Brasileiro de Desenvolvimento Florestal (IBDF). Afterwards, she was a manager at the Environment Department at Companhia Energética de São Paulo (CESP). In 1986, together with other conservationists, she founded the Fundação Pró-natureza (Funatura) and, in 1992, was named head of IBAMA. She was also member of the boards of several world organizations linked to nature conservation, such as IUCN, World Resources Institute (WRI), and WWF-International. She has published several books and articles on her field of expertise.







Adriano Cesar Passenko

Adriano has a degree in Accounting and a postgraduate  in Controllership from the FAE University Center, with an MBA in Finance from IBMEC in Rio de Janeiro. He works as a professor on the undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA courses, and also provides lectures to various trade associations. He has over 18 years of experience in auditing, consulting and finance, and has worked for the Big Four and Brazilian and international companies, both in Brazil and abroad.



João Verner Juenemann


Joao qualified as an accountant at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUC-RS), and in Business at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) where he also did a postgraduate qualification. He founded Juenemann & Associados, working in independent auditing from 1977 to 2015, as an expert witness, and in business consultancy. He is a member of the Board of Directors, of Auditing and Risk Committees, and of the Audit Committee of various  corporations over the last 30 years. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors and coordinator of the Audit Committee of the Banco do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul P.L.C. (State Bank of Rio Grande do Sul) and of Forjas Taurus P.L.C., as well as being a member of the Audit and Risk Committee of Tupy P.L.C. since 2009. He is President of the Audit Committee of the Instituto de Desenvolvimento Gerencial P.L.C. (Institute for Managerial Development) (Falconi Consultores de Resultado). He is also a permanent Tax Advisor of Plascar Participações Industriais P.L.C., Saraiva P.L.C. Livreiros Editores (Publishing House), Sonae Sierra Brasil P.L.C. and Dimed P.L.C. Distribuidora de Medicamentos (Medications Distributors). He is president of the Colégio de Vogais – an expert group of the Fundação de Apoio ao Comitê de Pronunciamentos Contábeis (FACPC) (Foundation for the Support of the Accounting Pronouncements Committee) and a member of the Nominating Committee of the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance (IBGC). He was president of the Brazilian Federal Accounting Council, member of the Board of Directors of the IBGC, president of the Audit Committee of the Banco Meridional do Brasil P.L.C., professor of the UFRGS and co-author of the Guidelines for Best Practice for the Audit Committee – 2005 and for the Audit Committee – 2009, issued by the IBGC. Maria Mercedes da Costa do Vale 

Maria Mercedes da Costa do Vale

Has a degree in Mathematics and Arts, with a graduate course in Marketing. She is co-owner and director of the Maranatha Group, a franchise of O Boticário, being responsible for sales management and both financial and management areas. She is also an art teacher. She was an accountant, manager of the statistics department at the Coca-Cola Group in Brazil, as well as sales analyst at the Boticário Group.

Rejane Maria Marcon Deflon 

Rejane Maria Marcon

With a degree in Accounting (1986-1990), she is an expert in Finances (1998) by FAE Centro Universitário, in addition to being a specialist in Consulting (2004) by IEA – Instituto de Estudos Avançados. Since 2003, she has been working at the Grupo ZHC focusing in the areas of accounting and taxes, and currently she is manager for Tax Accounting Projects. She worked as a financial manager at the Instituto de Neurologia de Curitiba (2001-2002), as manager at the Clínica de Diagnóstico por Imagem do Paraná (1996-2001), and as an accountant at the Grupo R Casagrande (1993-1996). She is a lecturer at CRC-PR as a Tax Expert, and is a volunteer at APAE-SJP/PR, in the area of consulting in the implementation of financial management.

Leandro Marins 

Leandro Marins

A lawyer acting in Business and Third Sector Law, he is a partner in the Marins de Souza Advogados law firm. He has a PhD in State Law by Universidade de São Paulo (USP), with a visiting PhD program at the Università Degli Studi di Siena in Italy. He has a Master’s degree in Economic and Social Law by the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (PUC-PR) and is a professor in the undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of Tax Law, Constitutional Law, Management Law, and Third Sector and Social Responsibility Law. He is chairman of the Third Sector Law Committee at OAB/PR (2011-present), a member of the Law and Religious Freedom Committee at OAB/PR (2010-present), a member of the Tax and Finances Academic Board at the Associação Comercial do Paraná - ACP (2012-present), and vice-president of the Centro de Ação Voluntária de Curitiba (2011-present). He is also the author of several books and articles.
