The IX Brazilian Congress on Protected Areas is coming!

The ninth edition of the event will debate the relationship between economic development and nature preservation in Brazil and abroad

Florianopolis will host the IX Brazilian Congress of Preservation Units, held since 1997 by the Foundation.

The Brazilian Congress on Protected Areas (CBUC) is one of the major events on nature preservation in Latin America and 2018 will see its ninth edition. The IX CBUC will offer new features, with a proposal of bringing contemporary topics to the debate, using technology to aid attendees in a sustainability environment.

With the topic Possible Futures: Economy and Nature, the congress will present in its program the relationship between the current economic scenario and the future of nature preservation, with the goal of showing that socioeconomic development not only is not an obstacle in the preservation of natural areas, as it can also be boosted and encouraged by the latter.

Held since 1997 by the Foundation, the Brazilian Congress of Preservation Units brings together key experts from Brazil and abroad in a program that provides room for collaboration, diverse activities and innovation.
