The Brazilian Congress on Protected Areas
(CBUC) is one of the major events on nature preservation in Latin America
and 2018 will see its ninth edition.
The IX CBUC will offer new features,
with a proposal of bringing contemporary topics to the debate, using technology
to aid attendees in a sustainability environment.
With the topic “Possible Futures: Economy
and Nature”, the congress will present
in its program the relationship between the current economic scenario and the
future of nature preservation, with the goal of showing that socioeconomic
development not only is not an obstacle in the preservation of natural areas,
as it can also be boosted and encouraged by the latter.
Held since 1997
by the Foundation, the Brazilian
Congress of Preservation Units brings together key experts from Brazil and
abroad in a program that provides room for collaboration,
diverse activities and innovation.
